Scholarships and lots of "Locks"
Since 2000, Magnifisites has partnered up with Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior, Wisconsin, for a very special event known as the "hair drive". The purpose of this event is to help raise money for scholarships awarded to WITC students, but also, to go a step further and provide hope to underprivileged children in the form of a hair prosthetic. A steady stream of community members, students and workers at WITC come by the Barber/Cosmetology classroom and receive a free hair cut and style - leaving their ponytail. Monetary donations made are matched by Magnifisites during this event.
The ponytails are sent to Locks of Love, a not-for profit organization that provides recipients with a custom, vacuum-fitted hairpiece made entirely from donated human hair. For more information about Locks of Love, visit their website at www.locksoflove.org
"Magnifisites" Scholarship for WITC
If you would like to donate to the Magnifisites scholarship, you will help students receive unlimited scholarships. The money you donate goes into an "endowment" scholarship fund which generates interest.... and the intrest generates scholarships. The well never runs dry.
