What is Hosting?
Hosting is the housing, serving, and maintaining files for one or more Web sites.
Do I need a hosting service?
In order to have your Web site available to the world, you will need a server connected to the Internet. A hosting service provides not only the computer space to store your site, but more important, the fast connection to the Internet. Typically, an individual business hosting its own site would require a high-speed connection, and it would be expensive. Using a hosting service lets many companies share the cost of a fast Internet connection for serving files without having to maintain the servers themselves.
